BOI empowered by SLT becoming total
Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the nation’s number one integrated communications service provider recently signed an agreement with the Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka, the central facilitation point for investors in Sri Lanka, providing it with a voice communication solution and becoming their total communication service provider. The recent agreement was signed to provide a voice communication solution comprising of a state-of–the-art PABX infrastructure and inter-branch communication system by becoming their total communication solutions provider. As a result of this enhancement BOI will enjoy the facility of seamless connectivity for communication between the head office and its 14 branch network. This facility is provided through a dedicated high capacity digital E1 connectivity for voice communications. Also SLT has taken steps to upgrade their existing Internet Leased Line to a very high speed dedicated broadband internet connectivity. The broadband Internet and inter-branch data communication network (14 branches) via IP/VPN solution, which is capable of carrying voice and mission critical data securely and reliably, is already in place as the backbone infrastructure of BOI Sri Lanka over a period of time. To strengthen their data network, SLT has already provided ‘Fiber to the building’ connectivity to the BOI head office which has opened them up to the internet with a very high bandwidth. Utilizing this total communication solution, BOI’s inter branch communication system will be able to minimize their communication cost of their 14 BOI locations, which include regional offices, project offices and site offices and free trade zones in the country.
Speaking on the significance of the agreement, Ms. Leisha De Silva Chandrasena, Chairperson of SLT said, "We take great pleasure in providing total communication solutions to the BOI, enabling them to bring more investors to Sri Lanka and helping them to have access to a world class communication infrastructure for effective communications.
